Shoyu Chicken and Rice with Kailua Seasoning Company Hawaiian Seasoning

Our Kailua Seasoning Company Hawaiian Seasoning does just that. This “everything blend” is the perfect addition to your next meal.

Sprinkle over chicken, fish, steak, or vegetables. Grill, roast, bake, or sear to your liking. This versatile blend can go with almost anything and will certainly add a new dimension of flavor to tonight’s meal.


Ingredients

  • 4 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken thighs
  • 2 - 3 tbsp. Kailua Seasoning Company Hawaiian Seasoning
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. honey
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • white rice, preferably Calrose

Instructions

  1. Whisk together Hawaiian Seasoning, brown sugar, soy sauce, water, honey, and green onions in a Dutch oven.
  2. Add chicken and bring to a boil, uncovered.
  3. Once boiling, reduce heat to medium low and cover partially. Let simmer until sauce has thickened, stirring occasionally until the chicken is cooked through and very tender, about an hour.
  4. Serve over fresh white rice.

Notes

Shoyu is what Hawaiian call soy sauce. You can also make a bit extra shoyu sauce if you like! We love this chicken served over white rice with a little bit of this delicious shoyu drizzled over the top.
