Have you ever tried seared broccoli? Have you ever tried our Florida Fish seasoning? What about putting them together for the incredible combination of Seared Broccoli with Florida Fish Seasoning?
I saw this once on an Indian cooking show sear broccoli and have made broccoli this way ever since. That combines with a good friend, who is vegan, saying Florida Fish is her favorite seasoning because she puts it on broccoli, I had to try the combination.
High heat plus good olive oil makes for a quick and delicious side dish. Finish with a generous sprinkle of our MarnaMaria Florida Fish seasoning and your have the perfect side dish for any meal!
In my house growing up, we ate a lot of broccoli and green beans. My dad didn't like squash, cauliflower isn't a vegetable, and bell peppers are extremely expensive in Hawaii. What am I missing... asparagus, another pricey veg, we didn't do any of the "choys"... bok choy, choy sum..., what is left? We did snow peas on the Asian food occasion.
So broccolli and beans were often on the menu. And don't get me wrong, I really like both of the vegetables, but when your options are narrow, you do look for some ways to make it more exciting.
I think now, cutting vegetables into "steaks" is way more common. Heck, restaurants are getting away with charging basically the same for a steak of ribeye as the do for a steak of cauliflower. But when i saw this on TV like 15 years ago, I though it was ingenious.
Now, I look for giant broccoli that i can slice into steaks and then sear. I made this for my husband when we first got married and now he won't eat broccoli any other way! So join in and lets make standard veg a bit more exciting!
