    Salted Caramel Sauce with Hawaiian Sea Salt

    Description

    If you have never made your own salted caramel sauce, this is the recipe for you. It's a simple sauce to make with ingredients you have at home. A simple and fun way to wow your guests!


    Ingredients

    Scale
    • 1 cup granulated sugar
    • ½  cup heavy cream
    • 2  tablespoons unsalted butter
    • 1  teaspoon Kailua Seasoning Company Mai Ke Kai Sea Salt


    Instructions

    1. In a medium saucepan set over medium-high heat, combine the sugar with ¼ cup cold water and stir to combine.
    2. Cook, without stirring, until the sugar has turned a deep amber hue, approximately 10 to 12 minutes.
    3. Meanwhile, warm the cream in a small saucepan.
    4. When the caramel is ready, slowly whisk in the warm cream and continue simmering the mixture until it is smooth, another 2 to 3 minutes.
    5. Remove from heat, then whisk in the butter, and then the Mai Ke Kai Sea Salt, to taste. Serve warm.

      I loved this caramel sauce!!! I want to eat with a spoon, but sometimes I even put it on ice cream! Yum!
