The Airmail Cocktail is great for everyone, though, if there are some grumblers out there wanting something with more oomph to it, you absolutely must try our recipe for a Brown Derby.

If anything, the name of this cocktail is really cool. But even more, it tastes delicious!

This is a great 5 o'clock drink and if you are feeling really ambitious, it could be lovely for brunch too! Similar to a French 75, this twist with rum, honey, and lime, topped with champagne is never a bad idea.

Description

This is a great 5 o'clock drink and if you are feeling really ambitious, it could be lovely for brunch too! Similar to a French 75, this twist with rum, honey, and lime, topped with champagne is never a bad idea.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1  ½ oz gold rum
  • ½ oz fresh lime juice
  • ½ oz honey syrup (recipe follows)
  • Ice
  • Champagne or prosecco
  • Mint leaves to garnish


Instructions

  1. For the honey syrup, bring two parts honey and one part water to a simmer in a small sauce pan until combined. Let cool.
  2. In a cocktail shaker, combine rum, lime juice, honey syrup, and ice.
  3. Shake until chilled.
  4. Strain into a Collins glass filled with ice.
  5. Top with champagne or prosecco.
  6. Garnish with mint leaves.
